A Mass of Christian Burial for Sister of Charity of Cincinnati Mary Paul Medland was celebrated Nov. 2 in the congregation’s motherhouse chapel. Sister Mary Paul, 72, died Oct. 26. She was a Sister of Charity for 53 years.

A native of New York, N.Y., Sister Mary Paul spent more than 20 years ministering in elementary education in the dioceses of Cincinnati and Washington D.C. In the archdiocese, she taught at St. Jude and St. Williams schools in Cincinnati, and at Seton High School; St. Charles Borromeo School in Kettering; and St. John the Baptist School in Harrison. Sister Mary Paul also served as an administrative assistant at Connelly Home, a home for mentally challenged women in Cincinnati. From 1989 until 1999, she ministered as a secretary/receptionist at a variety of offices and facilities in Cincinnati. In 2000, she began working in pastoral care at Mother Margaret Hall.

Sister Mary Paul is survived by her sister, Denise Medland, and brothers, Brian and Michael. Interment was in the Sisters of Charity Cemetery.
