ARCHDIOCESE — Catholics in the Archdiocese of Cincinnati welcomed in 2010 by praying for greater peace in our families, churches, communities, nation and world.

Two Masses marking World Day of Peace were held in the archdiocese on Jan. 1, in Cincinnati at the Cathedral of St. Peter in Chains, celebrated by Archbishop Dennis M. Schnurr, and in Dayton at St. Helen Church, celebrated by Father David Brinkmoeller.

Since Pope Paul VI in 1967, each New Year’s Day has been designated by the pontiff as World Day of Peace.
