CINCINNATI – March 17, 2020 – Catholic Charities Southwestern Ohio will continue to serve local families with critical services while taking precautions to minimize risk to all staff, volunteers and clients. We are reassessing key services to continue while suspending services that are non-critical at this time. Our team will continue to serve and empower clients, but adaptations are being made in order to reduce in-person contact.

Catholic Charities will continue to provide services as remotely as possible, some on a case-by-case basis, and these include our Su Casa Hispanic Center, immigration legal services, refugee resettlement services, senior and caregiver support, early childhood mental health consultations, parenting support, mental health counseling and selected food pantries. All programs that will continue have been evaluated to provide improved safety for clients and staff. Some programs have been modified. For example, our Senior Companions program, which provides support to low income seniors, will now be calling to check-in and maintain social interaction.

As this moment in time, programs that are temporarily suspended through April 6 are:
• Health Fairs/Health Days
• Buckle Up Classes
• Madres Classes
• Safe Sleep Classes
• ESOL Classes
• Job Placement Classes
• Computer and Financial Literacy Classes
• In-Person Caregiver Support Groups
• Fitness Classes

Catholic Charities will be monitoring this closely and plans to resume all services in conjunction with the Ohio Department of Health’s recommendations. We will continue to maintain staff over the next 3 weeks, although many staff will be working from home. For all questions about services, please call (513) 241-7745.
