Football not the only sport with big games this weekend

While the Ohio High School football playoffs start tonight, they aren’t the only big games taking place in area Catholic high school sports.

McNicholas High School’s girls soccer team (20-1) faces Akron’s Archbishop Hoban (16-4-2) in the Division II state championship final today at noon.

The Badin girls’ soccer team (19-1-1) takes on Ottawa-Glandorf (20-1) at 7 p.m.

Both games are are Columbus Crew Stadium in Columbus.

Archbishop Alter’s girls volleyball team plays Bishop Hartley from Columbus in the Division II state semifinals today at 2 p.m. Alter is 21-6 while Hartley is 23-4.

Mount Notre Dame (25-2) volleyball is taking on undefeated Toledo St. Ursula Academy (28-0) today at 6 p.m. in Division I.

The respective state championship games will be Saturday Nov. 8 at 3 p.m. for Division II and 5 p.m. for Division I.

All remaining volleyball contests are schedule to be played at Wright State University’s Nutter Center.
