A Mass of Christian Burial for Sister of St. Joseph Eleanor Bernstein was celebrated March 20 at St. Aloysius Church in Baton Rouge, La. Sister Eleanor, 72, died March 12 in Cleveland, Ohio.

A native of New Orleans, she was a Sister of St. Joseph for 55 years.

Sister Eleanor lived and ministered in the Archdiocese of Cincinnati for five years while serving in congregational leadership. During this time, she assisted in the reconfiguration process that drew seven communities of Sisters of St. Joseph into one Congregation of St. Joseph.

She is survived by her sister, Theresa. Interment was in Roselawn Cemetery in Baton Rouge.
