A Mass of Christian Burial for Precious Blood Sister Mary Ann Schroeder was celebrated Feb. 27 at Salem Heights Chapel.

Sister Mary Ann, 89, died Feb. 22 at the Maria Joseph Center. A native of Columbus Grove, Ohio, she was a Sister of the Precious Blood for 74 years.

Sister Mary Ann spent her first 30 years in religious life doing domestic work at various convents, institutions and homes. She later studied business and served others as a bookkeeper, payroll clerk and secretary in Dayton. Her retirement years were spent at Salem Heights and Emma Hall.

She is survived by her sisters, Helen Clark and Marguerite Sebastian, and brothers, Harold and Alvin. Interment was in Salem Heights Cemetery.
